Bancroft is a small, picturesque town nestled in the York River Valley on the southern edge of the Canadian Shield. With many unique shops in the downtown and throughout the scenic countryside, there is always something new to discover. Lunch will be at the Bancroft Brew Pub. Visit the Bancroft Gem and Mineral Club Museum, reflecting the mineralogical diversity of the area and celebrating its mining and mineral exploration history. Explore the ten galleries depicting the community’s history at the North Hastings Heritage Museum. Once headquarters of the Bronson-Weston Lumber Company before it was turned into a home and now a museum. It now houses many artifacts ranging from Victorian costumes and mineral collections to agricultural tools and early doctors and dentistry equipment. The more active may choose to skip the museum and climb atop the Eagle’s Nest Bancroft for a breathtaking view of the York River Valley!
