DAY 1:  SEPTEMBER 14, 2020

Step back to a much simpler time. This is a tour like no other and a destination that will leave you breathless. You will visit the homes and businesses of the Amish and Mennonite allowing you the first- hand opportunity to experience and learn the faith, culture, traditions and values.  Accommodations for the next four nights will be at the Comfort Suites Berlin, Ohio.  This hotel is located, in the heart of Amish Country.  Meet new friends as you relax on the porch and treasure a glimpse into the world of the Amish. 

DAY 2:  SEPTEMBER 15, 2020

This morning you will visit the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. Experience Behalt and see the 265- foot cyclorama, barn, and one room schoolhouse. At Shrock's Heritage Farm you will enjoy a house tour as well as lunch on your own at Olde World Cafe and shopping.  Take an adventure at the Age of Steam Roundhouse and see twenty-two restored steam locomotives.  Next you will have the opportunity for a hands-on experience at Lamp and Light Candles. Visit an Amish home for dinner and return to the hotel for homemade ice cream and a buggy ride!  (B, D)

DAY 3:  SEPTEMBER 16, 2020

Visit an Amish home before continuing to Roscoe Village to experience Canal life.  Roscoe Village transports you back to a time when the Ohio & Erie Canal was bustling with canal boats. Visit the restored 1800's canal town and follow in the footsteps of living history, stroll through the gardens, tour the museums and exhibits and experience a horse-drawn canal boat ride on a section of the Ohio & Erie Canal.  Visit Hershberger Farm and Bakery before time at your leisure for shopping in Berlin or you may decide to relax on the porch at the hotel.   (B, L, D)

DAY 4:  SEPTEMBER 17, 2020

Enjoy a visit to David Warther Carvings.  Carving from antique ivory and ebony wood, David's works are designed using blueprints and drawings furnished by maritime scholars and researchers worldwide. Visitors are especially intrigued by the fine detail masterfully applied to each piece. Pending completion, you may even have the opportunity, to see one of David's latest masterpieces, Canada's Bluenose.  See a broom making demonstration at Walnut Valley Brooms and stop at Walnut Creek Cheese for some bulk food shopping and lunch on your own. Sit back and relax while you enjoy a Broadway-style musical, A Simple Sanctuary, at the beautiful Ohio Star Theater.  Sample over 80 different cheeses at Heini's Cheese and complete your day with a visit to another Amish home.  (B, D)

DAY 5:  SEPTEMBER 18, 2020

This morning you will check out of the hotel before making a quick visit to Miller's Bakery, a back road Amish bakery where the aroma of baked goods greets you as you step off the coach.  Following the bakery visit, you will depart for home with a much better understanding of a simpler life!  Return home will be early evening with many fond memories of one of the largest Amish settlements in the world!  (B)
